Camping @ Pace Bend

Update:  Currently all Travis County Parks are closed for camping.  We will keep this event on the calendar just in case they open by the time this event opens.

Camping, hiking, swimming, Hamilton Pool, campfires, dutch oven cooking and more!  More specific details to follow.

Kid-friendly for Friendly kids - My niece and nephew are camping with us. They are 14//15 years old.

Dog-friendly for friendly dogs.

Fees:  2 options to choose from.

Option 1 – Dutch Oven Camping - $50 – If you are new to camping or don’t feel like bringing everything yourself, choose this option. HTXoutdoors brings the food for Friday Dinner – Sunday Breakfast, all the equipment to cook, firewood and will help you with tent setup.   The group helps prep food and clean after dinner.

Option 2 – DIY - $10 – Click here to RSVP for DIY. If you know what you’re doing, have your own gear, and want to handle your own food, choose this option.  The fee covers the campsite and firewood.  You bring everything you need. ( you can still borrow a BCO tent & ground pad but you should know how to set it up and pick up beforehand if you’re arriving late.)

Additional fees – Park Entrance Fee $20 per vehicle (cash at the event required).  lease plan to carpool.

Arrival Time:  You can arrive anytime before 10 pm on Friday.  So if you can’t take the day off of work, just leave right after work and we’ll see you there!

NOTE: If you’re borrowing gear and will not arrive until after 8 pm, please arrange to pick up your gear before.

BCO Dutch Oven Option is bringing:

  • Food
  • Dutch Ovens
  • Camping Stoves & Propane
  • Cooking Utensils and pots for cooking
  • French Press for Coffee
  • Tarps for shade
  • Extra Table for Cooking
  • Charcoal for cooking
  • Firewood if no burn ban

Note: If you select the DIY option, you should plan to bring these items.

You need to bring:

  • Plate / Bowl / Silverware/cup – something to eat and drink with
  • Tent / Ground Pad (ask about borrowing)
  • Sleeping Bag & Pillow
  • Headlamp or light source
  • Camping Chair (ask about borrowing)
  • Beverages & cooler if needed (no glass, no Styrofoam)
  • Clothes – pack in layers. Shoes for hiking, shoes for camp
  • Toiletries (wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, towel)
  • Sun Protection – hat, long sleeves & pants, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Bug Spray
  • Additional snacks you might want
  • Charger / Cables
  • Games
  • Water if you don’t want to drink the tap water from the park

Please let me know in the notes section when you RSVP of dietary restrictions (i.e. No Meat, No Pork, No Gluten, etc)

Take anything leftover home with you!
