The Original Ninfa's on Navigation is one of Houston's treasured landmarks, serving fresh Tex-Mex and Mex-Mex food in a casually fun atmosphere. The matriarch of Tex-Mex in Houston is still going strong in its original home on Navigation, where Mama Ninfa Laurenzo started a 10-table restaurant in the front of her tortilla factory in 1973. The tortillas, naturally, are still made by hand here, although much else has changed. An expansion a few years ago created an attractive patio to the side of the restaurant, an updated cocktail menu.
Note: Ninfa's automatically adds 18% for tip to the bill and they limit the number on "checks" per table, but they will take multiple credit cards with varying amounts per bill. In other words, each person still only pays for what that person gets.
