Celebrated British performers Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright, and Maggie Smith have all been given the title of dame. The actresses count scoresof iconic performances between them, with innumerable Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, and BAFTAs.
InTea with the Dames, these longtime friends meet for a weekend in the country to reminisce and share their candid thoughts on everything from art, to aging, to love, to life in the spotlight. Bursting with devilish wit, along withfilm clips from the women’sstage and screen careers, this new film offers a remarkable opportunity to spend time in the company of four all-time greats—up close and unfiltered.
Topics include, but are not limited to: Cruel directors, handsy actors (names are named!), what it's like to work onstage with one's husband, aging, death, critics who carry around an inflated sense of their worth (nervous cough), advice they'd give to their younger selves, and, randomly, snatches of dialogue or song lyrics from some long-forgotten revue.
