Dear Friends and Family,
On January 18, I finished my second Half Marathon here in Houston. As I did last year, I ran that run for me and I am very happy that I continue to pursue my fitness goals with enthusiasm. On April 18-19, 2009, I will once again join thousands of cyclists for the BP MS 150 from Houston to Austin in the race to the cure for multiple sclerosis.
Last year, when I rode this ride one of the most inspiring moments was when I passed a woman on the side of the road out in the middle of the country with a very simple cardboard sign saying "Thank You". This happened right about the time that the wind and the cold had just about gotten the best of me. I knew if she could live her life with this disease, I could do something as simple as continue to spin my bicycle pedals.
So, it was easy to decide to ride for MS again this year. And, you can share in this ride by helping support me to raise money for those that suffer with MS as well as to fund research that may find a cure. My personal fund-raising goal is $1000. Please help me with your support by making a one-time, tax-deductible donation. Any amount you feel comfortable giving is deeply appreciated, especially in a year when so many are worried about the economy and their financial future. The on-line donation link for me is attached. With your support, we can make a positive impact today in the lives of those with multiple sclerosis.
Sincerely,
Gwen
