Traditional ski trip at Steamboat Resort. The Steamboat terrain is varied with something for everyone. Steamboat is a complete mountain range with six peaks for snowboarders & skiers of all ages and skill levels. Costa Rica 2018 Retreat

Yoga, Music and afternoons hiking, surfing, paddle-boarding, jungle excursions, mountain biking, massage, evening relaxation of mantra and music. We will stay at Vida Asana Eco-Retreat and Yoga Center, an oasis tucked away in the rainforest, a kilometer from the beach. This retreat is appropriate for yogis of all levels, abilities and experience.

Big Bend - Another West Texas Adventure

We have a small group going to Big Bend. We are staying between the Big Bend National Park and the Big Bend Ranch State Park. Hiking will be daily options. We will touch both parks. And if there is enough interest cycling road bike and mountain biking, jeep tour. We will definitely do a day trip on the river if the conditions are right. For those that want to be pampered there is a day spa in Lajitas. This is an amazing place with interesting geology, endless photo opts and the river guides will tell you that you will see a shooting star every night!

BCO New Zealand Adventure

12 days – Christchurch to Queenstown. You'll find yourself surrounded by some of the best scenery on the planet with few signs of civilisation and no one else around. New Zealand is a haven for hikers. Some spots, such as the Milford Track, are deservedly world renowned, while other amazing locations are virtually undiscovered. Off the trail, New Zealand towns are charming and unique and since Kiwis love their creature comforts, you'll never be too far from a beautifully made cup of coffee. Sweet as!

ROW 2018 - Rock Out Weekend

Every year more people came and we had to find a bigger house until we settled on Flat Creek Ranch, 500 acres of our own ranch in the middle of the Hill Country (we share a fence line with Pedernales State Park). There are hiking and biking trails, a private swimming hole, 1000's of stars and room for everyone.  It's "rustic" (don't expect mints on the pillows) and comfortable. RSVP for 2018 ROW and come for the hiking, the rock climbing, the late-night story telling, the wine tasting, the memories, the moonlight swimming in the waterhole, and the ever-lasting friendships.

BCO South of Holland Trip by Bike + Boa

Visit famous historical towns, picturesque cities and beautiful landscapes in the surprising varied "Green Heart" of Holland by bicycle and ship. Backpacking Practice at Lake Texana Park and Campground

If you are signed up on the May 2018 Grand Canyon Trip (or plan any other backpacking trip this spring) this is a really great chance for you to prepare! If you are interested in backpacking, come and join us to learn more about it.  You do not have to be a backpacker to join us, but it will be the focus of the event. We will practice using our backpacking gear in camp and will be hiking Saturday with our packs. We will talk about gear, get to see what gear others have and will talk about meal prep.

Camping at Bastrop State Park

Bastrop is set among the “Lost Pines,” a unique pine-oak forest just 32 miles south­east of Austin. We will have several hikes over the weekend. Explore the growing forest, look for the new generation of loblolly pines, and witness the resilience of nature. Bike or drive scenic Park Road 1C between Bastrop and Buescher state parks. The hilly 12-mile road takes you through recovering and forested areas of the Lost Pines.  Lake Bastrop offers 900 surface acres for water sports. The Lower Colorado River Authority runs this park, and charges an entry fee... and many more

Palo Duro Canyon Camping and Hiking

We will camp at the state park and hike the Lighthouse and Triassic trails in the canyon. We can also explore a few of the caves in the park.  

Palo Duro Canyon has been called "The Grand Canyon of Texas," both for its size and for the dramatic geological features, including the multicolored layers of rock and steep mesa walls similar to those in the Grand Canyon

Texas Hill Country Getaway - Canyon of the Eagles

Smoky Mountains Adventures and Hiking - SUMMER

We call it heaven. We'll be day hiking on the Appalachian Trail and possibly the Bartram Trail. There are endless numbers of lakes and rivers to kayak (easy kayak rental in the area), the Great Smoky Mountain Rail Road runs daily, Zip lining for those who want, rafting or duckies on local rivers, dining in Bryson City (yum yum) and more. As a group, we'll fly into Atlanta & rent a car.  Or, you can make this a road trip by carpooling. Last year we visited Chattanooga, Memphis, Nashville and a couple of other cities along the way - it was a blast!

The Bruce Trail Backpack Camping Trip

 The Bruce Trail, Canada's oldest and longest marked footpath. We will be hiking and camping through the Caledon Hills and Dufferin Hi-Lands sections, approximately 125km divided equally over five days, four nights.  Participants should have some backpack camping experience!

If anyone wants to extend their stay before/after in Toronto or the surrounding areas including continuing on the trail, we can help with planning.  Keep in mind Niagara Falls is only 1 ½ hour away from Toronto!

Paddling Boundary Waters

Great Glaciers carved the physical features of what is today known as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) by scraping and gouging rock. The glaciers left behind rugged cliffs and crags, canyons, gentle hills, towering rock formations, rocky
shores, sandy beaches and thousands
of lakes and streams, interspersed with
islands and surrounded by forest. The BWCAW is a unique area located in the northern third of the Superior National Forest in northeastern Minnesota. Over 1 million acres in size, it extends nearly 150 miles along the International Boundary adjacent
to Canada’s Quetico and La Verendrye
Provincial Parks and is bordered on the
west by Voyageurs National Park. The BWCAW contains over 1200 miles of canoe routes, 12 hiking trails and over

 2000 designated campsites.

West Texas Fun, Fitness and Multi Sport Week 2018

Davis Mountains Fitness & Training Camp in West Texas is a week of laid back or endurance activities...its your choice. There are 3 levels of supported events each day.
Throughout the week you can choose various daily activities located either on the ranch property or off-premises. You can start your morning off with a pre-dawn walk or an early morning run. After breakfast, you can choose an activity, such as a bike ride or a hike or you can attend the various clinics and lectures that are scheduled throughout the day. Not all camp is physical! In the evening, there are activities such as nature or nutrition lectures, classes, and dance lessons.We have had a great time since 2012 and hope you can join us in 2018.

Biking the Katy Trail

The Katy Trail is a 237 mile (386 km) trail stretching across most of the state of Missouri. Over half of it follows Lewis and Clark's path up the Missouri River, where you can ride beneath towering river bluffs while eagles circle overhead.  After leaving the river, the trail meanders through peaceful farmland and small-town Americana. America's longest "rails-to-trail" project, formerly the MKT rail line, is flat and scenic.  It's ideal for hiking, running, or cycling on just about any kind of bike.  Many cross-country cyclists include the Katy Trail in their tours.  It is part of Adventure Cycling's Lewis & Clark route, as well as the American Discovery Trail.


BCO Big Bend Camping

Explore abundant natural riches in the desert of West Texas. We’ll have four nights in Big Bend National Park to explore some of the most scenic country in Texas, heck, the world!  We’ll be camping in the group campground in the Chisos Basin. There’s an abundance of natural riches to explore inside the park and activities include hiking, paddling, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, stargazing, and even a day trip to sunny Mexico.

Wicklow Way (6 Day) Self- Guided Walking Holiday. The Wicklow Way is Ireland’s oldest waymarked walking trail and is enjoyed by many independent walkers every year. It reveals some of Ireland’s finest views including Powerscourt Waterfall, Luggala, Loch Dan, Glenmalure and historical Glendalough. This, easy to moderate, six-day walking holiday along the Wicklow Way towards Dublin will take you over 60km along the stunning beauty of the Garden of Ireland.

BCO Yellowstone & Tetons Trip

We will spend 5 nights in Yellowstone and 3 nights in the Tetons. This trip we will stay in cabins and most days will be lots of easy to moderate hiking.  There is one strenuous hike planned in Yellowstone, and the group will have an option to take a moderate hike from the same trailhead.  We will be seeing the most popular attractions and various animals in the parks. This will be a very active trip, with lots of walking, so anyone that signs up should be prepared for the trip. The daily activities are still being refined, so they may change.

Camping at Palmetto State Park

A little piece of the tropics lies just an hour from Austin and San Antonio. With multiple sources of water (including the San Marcos River), Palmetto State Park is a haven for a wide variety of animals and plants. Look for dwarf palmettos, the park’s namesake, growing under the trees. This small park offers a large amount of fun, both on water and land. On the water, you can swim, tube, fish and canoe. On land, hike or bike our trails, camp, geocache, go birding or study nature. Palmetto State Park is a great weekend destination, with lots to do in nearby towns.

North Texas Trail Bike Trip

(not mountain) biking, stay in hotels and B&B at night. The Northeast Texas Trail is a collection of mostly unpaved trails that pass through the towns and farmland between Farmersville, Paris and New Boston in the northeast portion of the State of Texas. This is a multi-use, non-motorized, trail open to walking, running, bike riding and horseback riding. There is much to offer along the trail as it goes across the open countryside away from roads and traffic and through natural areas. You will travel through open farm land and brush land, thick forests, over picturesque bridges crossing rivers and creeks, see historic stretches of the old railroad lines and come across a variety of wildlife.

Texas Hill Country getaway at Dixie Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas

Enjoy a weekend away with your BCO Buddies in the spectacular Texas Hill Country! The ranch is only ten minutes from the famous town of Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of The World, where there is always music playing and honky-tonks to explore. It is also a short one-hour drive from the tourism mecca that is San Antonio, where you can enjoy the Alamo, the River Walk, Sea World,  Fiesta Texas and more. Last year we had horseback rides, we enjoyed the large outdoor pool, catch-and-release fishing, nature hiking, evening ranch entertainment (except Sunday), campfires, and many more.

Beginner Backpacking the Lone Star Trail

Let's enjoy your weekend with us into the Woods! This is a great beginner backpacking trip! We'll hike in on Saturday (half the loop) and set up camp.  On Sunday, we'll finish the loop.  Please bring all water you need for the weekend; include drinking water, water for food prep, etc. We can share gear like stoves, pots or hatchets, etc so you might not need to carry everything yourself. Bonus points for sharing a tent and only carrying half the load! This is a fair weather event - extreme cold or rain will cancel or reschedule.

Halloween at Dracula's Castle Transylvania, Romania

Transylvania. The name itself is enough to send an icy chill down the spine of even the most fearless adventurer. Now imagine being there, in person, when the clock clangs midnight… on Halloween! At odds with its creeptacular reputation, Romania ranks as one of Europe’s most charming and underexplored regions, beguiling visitors with its stunning Gothic architecture, enveloping forests, and friendly people. It is a 7-day tour from Bucharest to Bucharest; visiting castles, monastery, citadel, and villages. This year we'll be at Texana Park and Campground from Friday night to Monday afternoon, arrive when you can. We'll pick between a campsite located directly on the Lake Texana cove, or tucked away surrounded by beautiful oak trees. There will be hiking, biking (both road & mountain), geocaching, fishing, potluck dinners and whatever else we can think up!  Stay tuned for new events to be added and see you there! Cycle South Africa: Cape Town & The Garden Route

Thanksgiving Hiking in Utah

Utah is home to some of the most beautiful and unique terrain best explored on foot.  We will have a rental house as our base to explore carved landscapes, rock art, arches and spectacular overlooks in nearby parks like: Capitol Reef, Arches & Canyonlands National Parks; Dead Horse & Goblin Valley State Parks.  We will have daily hikes for every skill level, and a full-moon hike on Thanksgiving!

Mark your calendar for our pre-trip planning meeting on October 7th to discuss what to bring, park & trail information, what to expect, etc. We will discuss car rental/carpooling from either Salt Lake City, Las Vegas or Grand Junction, shared food/meals, including Thanksgiving dinner, kitchen duties, & sleeping arrangements.

Cuba Bike Tour

This is a Level 1 bike trip in Cuba.  We fly to Fort Lauderdale, and take Jet Blue to Havana.
There will be three days of riding in the city going to restaurants, bars, countryside, and local attractions.
Activities: Old Town walk tour,
a short ride around Vedado to John Lennon Park, Art Factory, a short bike ride on the Malecon (too cool), take the van to Casa Fuster, and Hemingway Marina.
We can mix in museums and churches too.
Note: everyone has to get a Cuban visa, but the tour people can help us to get them.

Fayetteville is having a historic homes tour that weekend.  And, we would be near La Grange and Roundtop.  Both towns are amazing, quaint and have shopping and antiquing.  Also, we could get a bike ride in that weekend.
This house is absolutely amazing, but, we have to JUMP fast!!  
It has 8 beds, and for 8 people, the cost would be $96 per person for both nights.  And, it has a hot tub, 2 fishing ponds, a party barn, and firewood for a bonfire isprovided.
