Lost Coast Trail – Backpacking Trip

The Lost Coast trail is the premier coastal backpacking trail in California, the experience of hiking where the land meets the sea is unforgettable and strenuous.

Between the cliffs and the sea, the Lost Coast Trail passes along the narrow band of tortured beach. The path leads from hidden beaches to expansive vistas at dizzying heights above the surf. Apart from sea lions and the occasional troop of Scouts, hikers discover pure solitude. The Lost Coast Trail is one of the finest beach backpacking trips found in the United States, and it has steadily grown in fame and popularity over the years.

Rock Out Weekend

Rock Out Weekend (ROW) is baaaaack in 2017!!!

Mark your Calendar if you don't want to miss

the jamboree of the year!!

Every year more people came and we had to find a bigger house until we settled on Flat Creek Ranch, 500 acres of our own ranch in the middle of the Hill Country (we share a fence line with Pedernales State Park).

There are hiking and biking trails, a private swimming hole, 1000's of stars and room for everyone.  It's "rustic" (don't expect mints on the pillows) and comfortable. Typically we hike, bike, climb, sightsee, wine taste, whiskey taste and play!

We had a great time in 2016 Fall, so we are planning another Trip for 2017.

BCO New Zealand Adventure - 12 days Christchurch to Queenstown

We challenge you to find a country that packs more untouched, dramatic and diverse scenery into a smaller space than New Zealand.

You'll find yourself surrounded by some of the best scenery on the planet with few signs of civilisation and no one else around. With no snakes, land predators like big cats or bears, or any other nasty critters to bite you on the trail, New Zealand is a haven for hikers. We have, however, got plenty of lambs frolicking in the paddocks, Tui birds calling in the forests and fur seals lazing in the sun on the rocky shores.
The light here is different somehow, making the fiords, glaciers, rainforest, volcanoes, beech forests and rugged coastlines crisper, brighter and a bit more intense than you'd ever expect.
